ONE announces completion of this acquisition!
Ocean Connected Shipping (ONE) announced today (November 28th) that it has completed the partial acquisition of equity in New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1), located at the New Priok Port Area in Jakarta, Indonesia, expanding its business presence in Southeast Asia.
It is reported that NPCT1 is an important terminal in the Southeast Asian market, with an annual processing capacity of 1.5 million TEUs since its completion in 2016. With its deep-water port and modern equipment, it is capable of loading and unloading ultra large container ships.
Jakarta is ONE's third largest port in Southeast Asia. ONE stated that this acquisition strengthens the company's business layout in the regional supply chain and ensures port loading capacity in this critical area.
Hiroshi Tsujii, CEO of ONE's Global Product and Route Network Division, said, "NPCT1 is an efficient and green terminal located in a rapidly developing region, and its strategic location is very important to us. Our ownership of the terminal ensures the security of our business capabilities in key ports and helps us achieve our growth goals
ONE also stated that the transaction demonstrates its ongoing commitment to business investment. In November 2023, ONE completed the acquisition of shares in some ports on the West Coast of the United States and Europe. These assets will help the company improve service quality and provide customers with faster and more reliable services.
